The spring issue of architecture, design and popular culture magazine «Modernists» looks into brand new interiors and historical apartments, as well as architecture and wine education.

Stories Editorial April 14, 2015

The spring issue of «Modernists» magazine offers a glance into the construction sites of culture institutions in Latvia and features home interiors from Riga and Vilnius — in a Soviet era fuel factory, a new residential project, a detached house and a historical apartment building. Architect Zaiga Gaile and architecture enthusiast Mārtiņš Ķibilds share opinions on architecture in a time of a new economy, new thinking and social networks in their interviews.

Fans of history will appreciate the authentic interior of the writer Andrejs Upīts in the elite «presidents» house and a story on the architectural education pioneer Ernests Štālbergs.

The views of wine connoisseurs are challenged in essays by several young authors on wine education, unicorn wines, music and the most appropriate time for opening a wine bottle according to a biodynamic farming calendar. Spring atmosphere radiates from the fashion and interior style pages.

«Modernists» magazine is published four times a year, and available for purchase at newsstands in Latvia, as well as the stores «Neputna galerija», «Paviljons» and «Modernists».
