For the second year in turn «Positivus» music festival and «Latvenergo» are holding an illuminated object competition under the theme «Friendly Energy». Each of the five winners will receive 1000 euros for the realisation of their ideas within the «Positivus» festival this summer.

The submitted works have to be large–scale illuminated objects which can be easily noticed during day and night. The objects have to correspond to this year’s theme «Friendly Energy», and they can be created in various techniques — those can be installations, videos, decorations, conceptual art, and other objects.

Last year, the festival’s atmosphere was graced with the winning works — «Illuminated Willow» by Elīna Pavlovska, Tatjana Raičiņeca and Jānis Piebalgs, Juris Kostirko’s «Light Bulb», «Concentration of Stars» by Anita Apele and Reinis Saliņš, Asen Chumov’s interactive «3A Behind the Scenes» and Madara Laure’s and Laine Šķestere’s installation «Moon Sheep Feeder».

The submitted proposals will be judged by a jury: the Head of the Visual Plastic Art Department at the Art Academy of Latvia Aigars Bikše, representatives from «Latvenergo», «Positivus Festival» and the brand activation agency «SponsorKing». The jury will select five objects, and each of them will receive funding of up to 1000 euros, as well as 4 invitations to the festival.

The works can be submitted individually or in groups, and number of applications is not limited. More information on the competition and its regulations can be found on the «Positivus» homepage.
