The Eclipse bar cabinet by the Latvian design brand Kanttari has just won a silver award in the furniture design category of the international design competition A’ Design Award 2025. The rounded shape and recessed handles of the Eclipse bar cabinet by Kanttari evoke the Art Deco aesthetic, which is also reflected in the opulent materials used in the piece — bronze, walnut veneer, and marble. The velvet–lined drawers add an extra touch of luxury to the bar. Inside the cabinet special attention has been paid to functionality, with rotating shelves for a more convenient selection of bottles and fixings for hanging different glasses.

Like other Kanttari furniture, Eclipse is handmade by skilled craftsmen right here in Riga. The brand stands out for its luxurious furniture, which uses high-quality materials and tailor-made details. Renāts Kotļevs, founder and creative director of Kanttari, points out that for him, craftsmanship is a cultural pride, which Kanttari embodies in unique luxury products. The brand has already won several A’ Design Awards for their designs.

«This success is an important step in promoting the international recognition of the Kanttari brand and a testament to the potential of Latvian design on a global scale. As one of the co-founders of the Latvian Design Export Alliance, this prestigious award further strengthens the name of Latvian design in the world,» says Agnese Stalte, marketing director of the brand.

The A’ Design Award competition, held in Italy since 2010, aims to select, highlight, and promote the best design practices and principles to inspire designers, entrepreneurs, and brands around the world to create high-quality products and projects. The winners are selected by an international jury of experts in various fields. Entries are judged on a wide range of criteria, including functionality, innovation, technology, and more.
