Interior and product designer Zanda Seņkova is passionate about exploring unconventional themes and challenging conventional boundaries. The jury of the National Design Award of Latvia 2025 recognised Zanda’s courage by awarding her the Young Designer Award for her Randevú furniture collection with a hidden BDSM function. In the Nice Touch section, Zanda talks about an app that helps her structure the design process.

Nice Touch Editorial June 27, 2025

«Since I started using the Miro platform as a student, I can no longer imagine my work as a designer without it. This platform is like a notebook that is always with me and cannot be lost or forgotten on the tram. Each project starts with a new page on Miro, where I can sketch out a timeline, compile research data or notes, create presentations, add sketches or prototype photos, and their analysis. All project-related information is in one place and can be viewed at any time. Miro allows me to set my own framework and structure the creative process, which is organic and very chaotic by nature.»

Zanda Seņkova is an interior and product designer. In 2024, Zanda graduated from the Riga Technical University Institute of Architecture and Design with a degree in Material Technology and Design. The designer’s bachelor’s project — a modular seating collection with a hidden BDSM function titled Randevú — received recognition for its bold concept and won first place in the product design category of the student design competition Design Arena 2024. This year, Zanda received the Young Designer award for this work in the National Design Award of Latvia 2025. More about ‘Randevú’ — on the competition website.

Randevú and other works by the winners and finalists of the National Design Award of Latvia 2025 will be on display at an open-air exhibition in Riga, Esplanāde, on the Elizabetes Street side, from July 3 to 31.
