Photographer Madara Kuplā captures buildings and interiors created by well-known architects and designers who are renowned both in Latvia and internationally. Having studied visual arts and interior architecture, she photographs spaces with an architectural understanding and artistic sensibility, skilfully capturing the play of light, textures, and colours. In the Nice Touch section, Madara recommends a good way to spend your lunch break to get back to work with renewed energy.
«A nice touch to a workday is yoga in the middle of the day. I recommend the Jivamukti yoga studio, which offers 60-minute classes designed specifically for the lunch break. Evenings are often busy, or I simply don’t have the energy to exercise, but lunchtime is a great time to get moving, and with movement and relaxation comes new inspiration to work. Rested eyes and a rested mind are much more precise tools, but the most important side effect of the workout is joy.»

Madara Kuplā holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the Art Academy of Latvia, and she studied interior architecture at Falmouth University in the UK, while learning photography at Andrejs Grants’ studio and the ISSP School. Her academic art education, combined with her knowledge of architecture and design, has allowed Madara to develop a distinct style in interior and architectural photography and to work with a wide range of clients both in Latvia and abroad.
