The creative competition platform Tandēms, in cooperation with the residency programme Vares.Space, is organising a series of five workshops and idea competitions where young industry professionals from Estonia and Latvia are invited to submit their visions.

Over the next five months, one idea competition and an associated educational workshop will be held each month. During the workshops, local young people will research the theme and problems of the challenge as well as participate in defining the task of the competition. The three best works from each of the competitions will receive cash prizes.

 

The young professionals will work in Talsi, Tallinn, Cēsis, Valga, and Ādaži, focusing on various topics related to design and the urban environment. The planned competitions will be opened with live events and lectures by industry experts:

Talsi — January 12, 18:00

A lecture by Charly Blodel Sticky Materials and a creative competition 1116 Lamps;

Tallinn — February 9, 18:00

Discussion between five experts and a competition about the future of the Linnahall building in Tallinn;

Cēsis — March 8, 18:00

A lecture by Margus Tammik and a creative competition Future of Garage;

Valga — April 5, 18:00

A lecture and a competition dedicated to wetlands in Valga Urban Streams;

Ādaži — May 3, 18:00

A lecture by the graffiti artist Dainis Rudens and a competition Art in the City.
