The RISEBA University Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) organises the annual BA Thesis projects exhibition. This year, the ten exhibited bachelor projects share a common interest in strategic planning and designing for knowledge territories, academic centres and schools. The exhibition «Designing for Knowledge Territories» continues the spring semester 2017 architecture studio «Knowledge mile», led by tutors Viesturs Celmiņš, Ilze Paklone and Tomass Štelmahs.

The exhibition also features first–year student’s spatial experiments (tutors Didzis Jaunzems, Dina Suhanova, M. Olčovska), second–year student’s multi–storey apartment building projects (tutors Bart Melort, Ints Menģelis) in three different places in Riga, as well as third–year projects for the annex of the Latvian National Theatre (tutors Andris Kronbergs, Ilze Paklone).

The annual projects catalogue «The FAD BA Thesis Book. 2018» is also available at the exhibition.

Lecture by Francisco Martinez

The public lecture held on March 8 at 16.00 at the first floor atrium of the National Library of Latvia by architect Francisco Martinez «Under Construction» will be a presentation of the process in creating the architecture, the evolution of the architecture project through different phases, from concept until construction, in order to preserve the design ambitions.
