The mobile app «Arhiguide» by the Latvian Association of Architects gives interactive, attractive and interesting information about the architecture, history, urban planning, events and architecture related personalities in Riga, which allows to explore diverse buildings, architects who have designed them, significant places, routes, architectural styles and historical eras.

Latvian Association of Architects has collaborated with architect, author and professor Jānis Krastiņš and architectural journalist Artis Zvirgzdiņš who are the authors of the descriptions of most objects included in the app. In cooperation with Latvian Filmmaker Union and Riga Film Museum, the content of the app is also completed with a map of places where the most important Latvian movies have been taken, as well as street art objects from the festival «Blank Canvas», curated by graphic designer Edgars Zvirgzdiņš in 2014. The content of the app is continuously updated. Currently, in addition to already existing information about around 400 objects in Riga, more information about nominated and awarded objects of Latvian Architecture Award has been added. «Arhiguide» provides its users with visual and textual descriptions of all objects.

In the nearest future, «Arhiguide» will be updated with content about the Art Nouveau architecture in Riga. Currently, Latvian Association of Architects is actively collaborating with Riga Art Nouveau Centre to add information about around 100 Art Nouveau objects that are located in Riga.

Author and creator of this initiative is Latvian Association of Architects, it’s been created with the support of State Culture Capital Foundation and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia. «Arhiguide» has been developed by the digital agency «Caballero» and it is possible to download it for free in AppStore (iPhone) and GooglePlay (Android).
