The main goal of the Estonian Fashion Festival (EFF) is to introduce young designers to a wider audience and to support the creation of quality clothing, footwear and accessories. The festival combines three different fashion shows — Mood–Performance–Tants, OmaMood and Antonius Fashion Show. The participants are selected every year through a competition.

Applications have now been announced for the Mood–Performance–Tants show, which includes both fashion and performance elements, and the OmaMood show, which focuses on preserving traditional textile art. Participation in the festival provides an opportunity to reach new audiences and potential customers, as well as to establish direct contact with design industry professionals. Young designers will have the opportunity to participate in workshops on branding, product marketing, product photography and portfolio compilation, as well as the presentation of collections. In addition, designers will receive professional feedback from fashion experts, experience in showcasing the collection live and the opportunity to attend an international fashion fair. Designers will also be awarded various prizes. The winner of the main prize of the festival will have the opportunity to participate in the International Young Designers Contest in Kyiv.

Mood–Performance–Tants

Mood–Performance–Tants is a unique fashion show that combines fashion, performance, and dance. The show is open to young, motivated designers who want to reveal innovative fashion solutions they have created for a wider audience. As the organisers of the competition point out, the more unique and unusual ideas are, the better! The stage will feature both clothing and accessory collections as well as collaborations between different designers. Mood–Performance–Tants will take place on June 9 in Tartu.

Both individual designers and teams can apply for the competition, and several collection proposals are also allowed. Only designers who have developed no more than ten collections are eligible. The applied clothing collection must consist of 6–10 looks that have not been created before 2021. To apply for participation in the show, applicants must submit sketches of all looks, as well as photos of one complete look. A description of the concept of the collection, including its name, design vision, sources of inspiration, message and techniques used, must also be provided. Contestants are also invited to attach photographs of the materials used in the collection or to send samples by post.

OmaMood

OmaMood fashion show started at the Viljandi Culture Academy of the University of Tartu, it’s based on a community movement that values the traditional craft skills and heritage. The aim of the fashion show is to support the development of sustainable fashion and preserve the local textile production while opening the conversation about the concept of heritage and its deeper observation. The show also includes a training programme of the same name for the young designers. OmaMood will take place on June 10 in Viljandi.

Both individual designers and teams can apply for the competition, and several collection proposals are also allowed. The collection of clothing or accessories applied must be wearable and include 5 to 12 sets that have not been created before 2021. Sketches of the collection must be submitted to the competition, as well as photos of one completed set. The application must be accompanied by a description of the concept of the collection, including its name, design vision, sources of inspiration and techniques used. Contestants are also invited to attach photographs of the materials used or to send samples by post.

Applications for participation in EFF fashion shows must be submitted until February 21. The results of the Mood–Performance–Tants competition will be announced no later than March 13, and OmaMood — on March 9. More information about the application and the full requirements of the competition can be found on the Estonian Fashion Festival website.
