This week, submissions opened for the largest industry competition in the Baltics, Mi:t&Links. Baltic Communication Awards 2024. This year, a new category has been introduced, Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance Communication, pointing at a new and topical area in the operations of companies. Entries can be submitted until March 21, and the awards ceremony will take place on April 19.

According to Antra Bork–Ržečicka, the president of the Latvian Communications Association (LaKA), along with competing for the awards, the event is also a chance to learn from the best, increasing the sector’s professional standards every year. One of the tasks of the competition is also to draw attention to what is important for society, business, public administration, and so forth, as these changes affect the communication sector and professionals. «Over the years, the number of categories in the competition has increased. For example, Employer Branding, Digital, Visual, and Influencer/Opinion Leader communication, as well as others, have become permanent categories. As the Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) has become a topical issue, especially in the context of the European Union directive, expanding the range of companies that must submit these reports, we see that there can be campaigns to learn from,» says Bork–Ržečicka.

 

The competition for Baltic communication professionals, Mi:t&Links, organised by the Latvian Communication Association, has been held for almost 20 years, with the best of the best competing for the jury’s assessment and the title of Agency of the Year in each country and the Baltic states. The competition is open to companies, agencies, government institutions, and non-government organisations, as well as individual specialists from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and other European countries. The early bird period for submissions will be open until February 7 at 16:00. Then, until March 7, 16:00, the regular application period will be open, while the late entry period will close on March 21, 16:00.

 

The applications submitted for the competition will be evaluated by an international jury that will shortlist five candidates in each category. The authors of these campaigns will present them to the jury and other audiences online on April 18. Mi:t&Links. The Baltic Communication Awards 2024 winners will be announced during the ceremony on April 19.
